UK New Artists 2022
Delighted that Re~Construction Signs has been selected for presentation at the UK New Artists: Leicester City Takeover in February 2022.
The festival brought together over 75 artists to present work and share ideas, animating the city and celebrating some of the very best of contemporary arts being made in the UK today. The free programme included exhibitions, performances, screenings and workshops in venues across the city.
For this site~specific work, I explored Leicester for signs of life and growth, marking glimpses of Spring as the city re~opened again following lockdown restrictions. Throughout the festival, residents and visitors were encouraged to see their surroundings in new ways and share signs of hope encountered.
Alongside this work, I was commissioned to design and deliver Drawing Connections, a workshop for local young people at Attenborough Arts Centre, re~imagining the city through collective map and seed~bomb making.
