I’ll be representing the White House Dagenham at the Becontree 100 Festival, sharing our arts programme with local residents and celebrating some of our recent New Town Culture projects. Look out for...
~ Sarina Mantle’s Becontree Bunting across the festival site, produced with designs by local residents and children from Becontree schools.
~ Blak Outside x White House plant stall, hosting family growing activities and a herb give~away from our intergenerational gardening club.
~ Elsa James’ Love Becontree Parade with our foster family art club. Inspired by the history of the Dagenham Town Show, the group have created their own carnival costumes and placards over Zoom, and will be bringing together what they’ve made for this special event.
I have also collaborated with artist, Griffi, to re~imagine a 1960s archive photograph of the ‘Dagenham Town Show Aliens’ ~ an interactive installation created with the help of our foster family art club.
Join us in Parsloes Park as we celebrate 100 years of Becontree history and create new memories for the future.
Part of Becontree Forever, a programme of art, architecture and new infrastructure to mark 100 years of the Becontree Estate in 2021.
The White House is a project of Create London, an organisation that commissions socially~engaged art in the public realm.
